Parents and students alike recognize the necessity of gaining an education in leadership/statesmanship. All nations of the world need great statesmen to lead them through challenges and crises. As the leading college of leadership/statesmanship education in America, George Wythe College is finding it necessary to develop multiple campuses and expand into a university. In 2003, through tax free donations from those who support our mission of building statesmen, we raised enough to finance the beautiful building from which we now operate. More recently, generous donations and responsible fiscal management have made possible the recent acquisition of 520 acres of beautiful land in Monticello, Utah for our second campus.

The future home of George Wythe University

As we expand into a university model, we need additional help. The new growth phase requires a new funding effort which we call the George Wythe University Capital Campaign. A condition of the land purchase is that we hold classes there by 2010. Architects are planning and drafting the campus and infrastructure work has begun. The architectural team is developing the campus master plan and infrastructure work has already begun.

This urgent time-frame creates a need to raise funds for the expansion of our current Cedar City campus and complete the first buildings on our second campus in Monticello. To complete the first phase of this campus, we need to raise $20 million and are determined to meet that goal by the end of 2012.

Our previous successful funding campaigns show that except for the top 10 donors, the average contribution was about $25 per month over 32 months. We continue to depend on our most dedicated donor base: you and me. Small monthly donations from a large number of donors adds up to substantial sums to meet our growing needs and serves to attract larger donors who witness the success and stability of our institution. Thus, we are announcing the 2007–2012 Friends of GWC “Build the Campus” Drive, which will raise funds through regular, monthly donations.

The goal for Build the Campus Drive is $3 million or 15 % of the overall $20 million goal of the George Wythe University Capital Campaign. Successful completion of this drive will create momentum to propel the other facets of our campaign, resulting in an extraordinary campus which will make it possible to educate more future statesmen and ultimately move the cause of liberty throughout the world.

Creating a university model—George Wythe University—is an exciting adventure! We must join our efforts as we enter this new phase. Building our university requires funding for the development of many more highly prepared mentors and the construction of a number of permanent facilities to accommodate the thousands of students who desire to attend George Wythe College now and who will desire to attend George Wythe University in the future.
